Nakul & Arjun Mahendro grew up in a humble suburb just north of Toronto, Canada, named Markham. In their formative years, the two brothers were constantly coached by their father, Chef Pawan Mahendro, to pour wine ‘label-out’, serve from the left, and flip the perfect omelette. It was only natural that when Nakul turned 14, he took his first job as a busboy, and a few years later, Arjun followed his older brother into the world of restaurant work. Nakul & Arjun, opened the first BADMAASH in 2013 in Downtown LA’s historic core, and their 2nd location on Fairfax Avenue, in West Hollywood, in 2018. The clean, colorful spaces are LA’s go-to destinations for traditional Indian dishes, alongside innovative indian foods, accompanied with natural wine & beer. In March of 2020, Nakul & Arjun solidified themselves as ‘multi-concept restaurateurs’ by opening BURGERS99 in the middle of the La Brea fashion district. The neighborhood friendly restaurant was born out of the brothers’ love for cheeseburgers, fries, shakes and sodas.
